APRA recognition is measured, reviewed and earned
No nominations by marketing, no sponsored placements, no pay-to-rank. APRA recognition starts with verified payroll activity and ends with a human review of accuracy and conduct.
The process
1. Process payroll as usual
Nothing to apply for at the start. Every finalised payroll run, payslip issued and statutory filing captured on Payroll Africa is recorded against your account.
2. Eligibility is calculated automatically
Your dashboard shows verified months of activity, employees paid and consistency. When you cross a level's minimums, you become eligible.
3. You submit an APRA recognition claim
APRA recognition is opt-in. You confirm your name, title, country and speciality, and choose whether your profile should be public.
4. Human review
Our review team checks payroll consistency, correction rates, filing history and professional conduct. We may ask for a short interview or references.
5. APRA recognition is granted
Your professional profile is published in the directory with your level, speciality and recognition date, and you receive your APRA digital badge.
6. Annual re-verification
Levels are re-checked each year. Continued activity maintains or advances your level; extended inactivity pauses it.
Published scoring criteria
These factors and weights decide eligibility and award shortlists. They are the same for every professional.
What we will never do
Earned from real work
Every level is calculated from verified payroll activity inside Payroll Africa — months processed, employees paid, filings completed. Nothing is self-declared.
Never for sale
Recognition cannot be bought, sponsored or upgraded through a paid plan. Pricing tier has no influence on level.
Transparent criteria
The scoring factors and their weights are published. You can see exactly where you stand and what is still outstanding.
Reviewed by people
Automated metrics create eligibility; a human review confirms conduct, accuracy and contribution before a profile is published.
Professional, not promotional
Profiles and stories are written as professional records of practice, not marketing testimonials.
Owned by the professional
You choose whether your profile is public, what it contains, and you may ask for it to be withdrawn at any time.
