    Annual income tax scenarios

Enter annual taxable income after applicable deductions. The current tax engine applies annual brackets, age rebates and medical scheme tax credits.

    Rebates and medical members

Age determines primary, secondary and tertiary rebates. Medical members include the taxpayer and qualifying dependants. This estimate assumes eligibility for the credits throughout the year and excludes additional medical expense credits.

Tax is separate from payroll contributions

UIF and SDL switches do not alter income tax. Their annual estimates assume evenly paid income over 12 months. SDL is an employer cost and may be exempt, including where the applicable annual payroll threshold is not exceeded. A final SARS assessment can differ because of other income and deductions.
