    EMP501

The bi-annual employer reconciliation submitted to SARS through e@syFile with IRP5/IT3(a) certificates.

    Full definition

EMP501 is the reconciliation return that ties each monthly EMP201 declaration back to the actual PAYE, UIF and SDL calculated per employee for the period. Employers submit EMP501 twice a year — the interim submission covers March–August (due end of October) and the annual submission covers March–February (due end of May). It is filed through SARS e@syFile Employer along with an IRP5/IT3(a) tax certificate for every employee.
