    National Minimum Wage

    The statutory minimum hourly rate for all South African workers — R28.79/hour from 1 March 2025.

    Full definition

    The National Minimum Wage Act (2018) sets the minimum wage every employer must pay. From 1 March 2025 it is R28.79 per ordinary hour worked. Domestic workers and farmworkers are now on the same rate. EPWP workers earn R15.83/hour.
