Pay Frequencies and Pay Calendars
Monthly, fortnightly and weekly cycles, and how period dates are generated.
Supported frequencies
- Monthly — most common; period runs calendar month
- Fortnightly — 26 periods per year
- Weekly — 52 periods per year
Pay dates
Set the pay date rule once: last day of month, a fixed day (e.g. 25th), or the last Friday. Where a pay date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the system shifts it to the preceding business day for bank file generation.
Mixed frequencies
A company can run more than one frequency. Weekly wage staff and monthly salaried staff each get their own run, but EMP201 totals are consolidated for the tax month.
Changing frequency mid-year
Changing frequency creates a new calendar from the effective date. Year-to-date figures carry across so tax and IRP5 remain correct.
